Having won the latin section, the Bournemouth audience [probably very biased] voiced their feelings when after the standard section an overall tie was announced. Congratulations to all the couples from both teams who were all extremely sporting and made this a terrific event. The draw was a just result as everyone perfomed like winners. Congratlations! Thanks also must go to the adjudicators of the event - Claire Taplin [Southampton] Robert Bellinger [Southampton] and head judge Lynette Boyce [Bournemouth]. The real winners of course were the Red Cross as we managed to raise £10000 towards the cost of a new Dorset ambulance.

Hosted by BBC Radio Solent's Richard Cartridge, and with appearances by a galaxy of the programmes past presenters including Peggy Spencer, David Jacobs and Rosemarie Ford, the evening should prove a winner amongst dance fans.

| Andy Ross Big Band Orchestra |
The event will see a reunion for the members of the Andy Ross Big Band Orchestra who played on the programme for 30 years. The evening is also being produced, free of charge, by some of the original crew on Come Dancing. The BIC was the home of the programme for several years.
Spectacular cabarets include Bournemouth's own Warren & Kristi Boyce who are British Open, UK Open, International, European & World Finalists, record holding 4x British National Champions and 4x UK Closed Champions, and the latin section introduces new UK Professionals and Rising Stars Oleksii Ivanets and Lisa Bellinger-Ivanets. As part of Come Dancing - Revisited Bournemouth will battle against Southampton in a dance-off with an under 25's Latin and Ballroom Competition.
The evening will raise money for a new British Red Cross Ambulance in Dorset. Pamela Fry, who's a Fundraising Manager for the charity, told BBC Dorset that the event could be quite an emotional one:
"There will be several reunions taking place on the night. Not only are the Andy Ross Big Band Orchestra reforming for the occasion but several of the programme's past presenters and crew will be meeting again after many years.
"We are delighted to be able to host this event and would like to thank all of those involved in the show who have given their time for free to make it happen."
Past and Present
Membership of dancing schools has seen a 60% increase since Strictly Coming Dancing began it's run on BBC One in 2004.
The original Come Dancing was created by Eric Morley in 1949 to teach the public all about the joy of dancing. In its early years the show was broadcast from amateur dance events held around the country. Professional dancers Syd Perkins and Edna Duffield taught the moves to viewers.

| Past presenter, Terry Wogan |
It wasn’t until 1953 that the show concentrated on the competition element, with couples from all over the UK competing for the coveted Come Dancing trophy.
Throughout the fifties the presenters were McDonald Hobley, Peter Dimmock, Sylvia Peters, Peter West, Brian Johnston and Peter Haigh.
But the real stars of the show were the dancers and the amazing costumes. Sequins and feathers were where it was at.
Over its mammoth fifty-year run, presenters on the show included such famous names as Terry Wogan, Angela Rippon, Michael Aspel, Judith Chalmers, David Jacobs and Rosemarie Ford.
